Trend Board 8 - Sunny Days Ahead
For this board we were instructed to create something summer/beachwear inspired. I chose to create a look for a beautiful woman spending the day on her wealthy family’s yacht, or perhaps sailing with the love of her life! The white lace romper keeps the look feminine and flirty, but prevents any wind mishaps (i.e. a skirt/dress flying up). I wanted to keep the feeling nautical with the wooden earrings, yellow rope necklace, and red patent cork platform shoes. Oversized sunglasses are a must!

Trend Board 6 - Green Shoes from the Start
I chose this outfit for Zooey for an afternoon of meetings with some of the industry’s biggest directors. The bold print of the Giambattista Valli dress will make her the center of attention, while the colorful tights and complementing shoes are sure to make her the most memorable meeting of the day for those Hollywood hot shots. She’s got a gray snakeskin tote to carry any necessary notes, and some funky diamond cluster earrings to play off the shiny-ness of the shoes.

Trend Board 5 - Wedding Bells are Ringing
For this assignment, our subject was a wedding. I decided to style myself for a friend’s wedding this spring. Since the wedding colors are pink and beige, I chose a dress that was the opposite color - blue. The lace adds softness, while the sort cut and boat neckline keep it young and flirty (perfect for snagging the best man!) Jewelry is minimal with a glass pear Miu Miu necklace with diamond encrusted bow, and some pearl stud earrings. Since it is an outdoor wedding, I decided to play it safe with some wedges in a nude color to help lengthen my legs.

Trend Board 4 - Photo Taker
For this board, we were assigned to dress a male of our choice for an event of my choice. I chose to keep my board generic and create an outfit for a fun, young photographer heading out on a crisp fall day to shoot some new pics for his portfolio.
I kept this guy, we'll call him Ted, quite casual in some distressed D&G jeans and white Marni button down with black tie. Burberry sneakers and shades add a little class, while the red watch gives a little color. Ted keeps it cozy with a toggle clasp sweater jacket, and of course he can’t forget his CAMERA!

In-Class Activity: Dressing Down?
For this in-class activity, we were assigned to pick a celebrity and dress them down for a night out. I chose Amanda Seyfried and put her in some dark skinny jeans with comfy wedges. A sequin tank with some blue makes it a bit dressy, but still keeping it casual. Topped off with some cool bird earrings and layered gold bracelets, Amanda is ready to hit the town!

Trend Board 3- Keep Dreamin': Business Chic
It is hard to say what my dream job is, because I really think I could be happy with a number of positions in the Fashion Merchandising industry. I know it would be with a company that allows me to show a little creativity with my outfits while keeping it "office appropriate".
I wanted to keep my outfit professional with an Alexander McQueen 2-button blazer and white silk blouse from The Row. To add a little sparkle, I paired the business tops with an embellished gray skirt at an appropriate length. Keeping my jewelry simple with a pendant necklace and diamond ring, I then added a pop of color with the beautiful blue pumps. The Coach Leather satchel completes my interview outfit.

Trend Board 2 - Golden Gramophone: Red Love && Nude
Inspiration is something that can really be found everywhere and anywhere, even in the most basic daily activity. Every Wednesday I sit down to watch one of my favorite shows- Modern Family. Sarah Hyland, who plays the super cute teenage daughter, is really beginning to grab my attention. She's proven to be a great actress, funny and charming. That is why I have chosen to style this young star for the Grammys.
I chose to dress Sarah in a long strapless Monique Lhuillier gown. The embroidered tulle gives the dress some drama, and the silhouette will look great on her petite figure. I added some unique Roberto Cavalli pumps with a killer panther heel! A patent red Alexander McQueen clutch and red drop earrings add a subtle pop of color, while a nude, raw stone cocktail ring tops it all off.

Trend Board 1 - Awarded Inspiration: Night Out in Nashville
Trend Board 1: Date Night - Friday Evening - 12th & Porter
While watching last nights Golden Globe Awards, I was greatly inspired by the amount of blue that I had seen. That one shade in particular. You know, the one thats like a royal blue with just a hint of violet.
I wanted to take that color and make a statement in sequins! This sexy long sleeve mini has a low dip back.
Why stop with the dress? I kept the sparkle going with the Oscar De La Renta black sequin pumps.
A little pop of color with the fabulous Christian Louboutin furry orange clutch, and minimal jewelry complete the look.
Perfect for a night on the town!
